Quote Top Tip: Consider Age Restrictions

Question of Age

Have you noticed that some online car hire quote forms no longer ask for your age?

Thorough research and getting to know what information customers want to answer in a quote form has led to a major cut down with only the basics being asked for step one.

But that doesn't mean that certain aspects of hiring a car no longer exist, and age restrictions are still very much in play.

Here are some important aspects regarding age restrictions to keep in mind when searching for car hire online:

  • Most suppliers will not hire a vehicle to a driver aged under 21;

  • An age surcharge is generally applicable for drivers aged between 21 and 24 - some suppliers may include 25 within this group; and

  • There may be an age limit in place (usually suppliers will state 99 years old but in some circumstances it may be as young as 70!).

So remember to check out the 'Rental Conditions' for each listed vehicle to find out further information on age and any applicable restrictions.
